Heroes for the Human Race
“Try not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value.” – Albert  Einstein
There aren’t many people I would consider a hero, since now days many are consumed by electronics and are quite impatient. But when I do come across one I know they are here stay and have already made a difference without even trying. They are common folk, people like you and me; and they don’t have to be famous or have loads of money. They just need a clear mind and a kind heart .Great attributes that are that make a hero a hero, would be someone who illustrates leadership, showing compassion and continues to stay positive.
First of all a hero is one who “leads” by example. They express healthy positive examples for others to follow in their footsteps. They are the bigger man in sticky situations and take the highway and stay above the influence. They practice what they preach for instance since global warming is a big controversy issue that effects many and if this individual wanted to make difference they should continue to recycle and use reusable bags and make they a life time comment.
Second, to be a hero they must show a little love! They need to give more than they receive and up and get involved. For example the could help out in the community  park up or volunteer a t a local food bank or just giving a home person  a jacket you don’t even wear anyone so they can stay warm for the winter. Small notions like that count and make a huge impact on someone else’s life. What would Jesus do? J
Thirdly ,if a hero can continue to have positive outlook on life that is a wonderful thing to have. Times may be hard but by being optimistic and hoping and knowing that good karma not being a Debbie downer. Making others happy or just being some nice to talk to without judging is the perfect hero.
Last but not least, a hero who shows does what is right, lends a hand and and has a happy attitude is a true Hero for the Human Race.

                                                              Happy Mother’ Day
On Mother’s Day we had a banquet for all the mothers at my Church; I was oblivious to my surrounding by the buffet table that I slid my foot right along a wright iron fence. For starters, this wonderful incident all took place on a Sunday afternoon, on May 18, 2009. It was lunch time and all the mothers and were seating in the cafeteria and waiting for us little one to serve them on their day. As I waited in line I heard laughter and jolly conversations immersing form all different directions giving you the ideal impression of a good dayJ …for that moment. When I finally got my chance to take a go around buffet table to start plating my food, (Keep in  mind that a few days earlier they had a writing iron fencing put up and for some reason they decided to put the left over pieces in the far off corner near the buffet table …Why?? I couldn’t tell you that not even to this day.)  is when the big bang occurred. Now, as I was walking along the right side the table with all the yummy pasties. I hadn’t even acknowledged the left over fencing on the left side of me so very near my feet. And that was all it took to slice a nice clean gash on my left foot where my ballet flats provided a sole for my foot but allowed the frontal part of my foot exposed to world. Can I even call those shoes I think not. So I still hadn’t realized the heavy bleeding that began to spill. This is where my shoe can in handy it was like a little boat for the blood ran for the wound. I began to wonder as to why my left foot felt so… wet? As I looked down no words came to my mouth just tear from eyes. I couldn’t believe that was thick red bleed not a spilled cup of water! I ran to the bathroom to  try and take care of myself but when the bleeding didn’t stop but continued I started panicking and crying little too loud a man was passing by and saw me struggle and then took the initiative and got help. I was sitting on the bathroom floor of the woman’s bath crying and soon the whole congregation was by my side trying all talking at once trying to allay the situation. But it was no use I freighted and didn’t know what would happen to me. Everyone was very helpful they propped a pillow under my head held my hand said a few prayers and told me stories to try to calm me down while we waited for my parents to get the car ready to take me to the hospital. Lastly my father picked me up and put me in the car and we drove off to the nearest hospital where I was later treated with twelve stiches. My Mom gave me a kiss while she held my hand on the way back home and the last thing I remember saying was “Happy Mother’s Day Mom”

Definition of: A Good Neighbor

Definition of: A Good Neighbor
What I consider to be a good neighbor is an individual who is kind, respectful, provides security. A good neighbor is one that is friendly, kind and respectful. First of all, my nana is seventy years of age and lives alone. She is unable to a lot of things around the house due to her age and many illnesses. She’s lived in the same home for the past forty years and she has a neighbor that lives across the street that meets all of the characteristics that a good neighbor embodies.  His name is Larry.  Larry is so considerate; there is, no task too small nor too big that he will not tackle. Every week he makes sure that my nanas trash is put out and taken back in. Yes, this may seem like a small, minute task, but for someone that can barely walk at times due to arthritis this means the world. I’ve been over to my nana’s on several occasions, and Larry has been over hanging drapes, washing dishes and mowing the lawn. Secondly, it was just several days ago that Larry was over, the first to respond when my nana had a terrible stroke. How he knew something was wrong with my nana that he would go check on her at that particular time we still don’t comprehend but are extremely grateful that he did.  You see my grandpa passed away even years ago, and like Larry he was an awesome neighbor to everyone, especially Larry, because he too had an elderly mother that my grandpa would help out when Larry was out of town or at work. Not knowing that my grandpa would become ill and pass on, he sowed a seed of kindness that caught on like wildfire.

Comparison and Contrast Essay
Although my brother and I may be two peas from the same pod, we surely didn’t fall out the same way.  We share a similar interest in style but as for hobbies and personally, that’s where we split.  First of all, both my brother and I have admiration for the “finer” shoe and apparel. It’s not so much the “name brand” per say, its more so the quality of the fabric and craftsmanship. Our style is unique, and organic and fresh. Secondly, our hobbies are totally different. My brother is more of the outdoorsy type; that love to be outside hanging out with friends, not worried about getting a little dirty or being around bugs. As for me, I prefer staying inside the comforts of my own home. I love to sit in the sun room drinking tea, snuggled on the window seat devouring a good book.  But my brother would much rather play on Xbox Live until 5am if only my parents would let him stay up that late. Thirdly, our personalities are just the exact opposite of one another, which is typical for siblings. For one he is a social bumble bee making about a hundred new friends on the first day of school! As for me, I’m far too shy to even make I contact with peers sitting right next to me. I have three close friends as opposed to many friends. He loves to interact in group activities and mingle with others and I tend to fly solo. But all in all that’s what makes us , us.J

This is my portfolio that I have worked on the past several months. I have learned many new techniques and a have developed many writing skills and understand how to write different styles of writing. The weaknesses I had were simple grammar errors and sometimes forgetting to use transitioning words. But now that this class has come to an end I think I have grown and learned form my mistakes I think I deserve a good grade for all the hard work and time I have put in to improving my writing. What I would do better is more detailed pre-writing because it is so helpful when it comes time to actually writing my paper. But I  really happy with all the mini lessons where I got the chance to learn how write a persuasive paragraph, a narrative etc. and it makes sense because I have all the requirements for it. I will surely carry that wonderful information with me and I know I'm going to do awesome in my English class :)

How to Plant a Garden
Planting a garden shouldn’t be stressful or a burden; as long as you  keep in mind to prep, plant  and  then have a little  patience,  you too, will have your very own garden. So before you get a head of yourself and start building greenhouse,J you might want do some research.  First, ask yourself a few questions: What am I going to plant? Does that plant require a lot of sunshine and water? Do I have enough space for a garden? Once you’ve checked those questions off and you have an idea of the and where, part for planting your garden then it’s off to go shopping for materials (preferable any store that carriers a plant nursery and items for planting). In this second step you need to make sure you buy anything you don’t already have for your garden. For instance: planting soil to nourish your plant and help it grow healthy and strong, a small shovel for digging holes, maybe a water pitcher if you don’t have a water hose accessible at home and maybe some gloves if you don’t like getting your hands dirty and last your plants they can be seeds or ones that are young with a few leaves.  The third step you can go home and get to work. So after you found the place to plant that is suitable for your plant then you can start digging small holes with your shovel to plant your herbs , veggies or fruits. Place your plants in the holes and cover with nourishment soil pat down and repeat this process for the rest of your plants until all are in the ground. After that is taken care of you can sprinkle a little water and wait. Now the very last step is the hardest and its patience. Wait for your plants to grow so to you can start picking. But even though that takes so time in the end when you finally get to see the fruits of your labor is something to really look forward to. Now was that so bad? Nooooo! Planting a garden is a piece of cake and now you know who to do it too.

Is the United States a health-conscious nation?

I say yes and no on this opinion. In the United States I find it not to be a health-conscious nation. Although there are many people trying to make a difference in promoting healthier eating habits and getting more exercise if we take a look over the course of the last few decades, we can visibly see the dramatic increase of obesity rates flying off the charts. This is common problem all over the world but can predominately be seen in the U.S. Obesity can lead to all types of failures, serious diseases ultimately lead to death. But with all the being said if we put that aside for a moment; digging deep, we will begin to ponder such a thought as "how did we get to this point?" For one thing, as Americans we don't exercise as much as we should. Whether it be because of our busy schedules, don't have special equipment or simply because we just don't know to "exercise", we always, some how we seem put it off. We should be getting a lest a minimum of 60 minutes a day of some sort of physical activity. Everthing in the United States in super-sized! I had a friend who was an exchange student from Italy and she said that
