Definition of: A Good Neighbor
What I consider to be a good neighbor is an individual who is kind, respectful, provides security. A good neighbor is one that is friendly, kind and respectful. First of all, my nana is seventy years of age and lives alone. She is unable to a lot of things around the house due to her age and many illnesses. She’s lived in the same home for the past forty years and she has a neighbor that lives across the street that meets all of the characteristics that a good neighbor embodies. His name is Larry. Larry is so considerate; there is, no task too small nor too big that he will not tackle. Every week he makes sure that my nanas trash is put out and taken back in. Yes, this may seem like a small, minute task, but for someone that can barely walk at times due to arthritis this means the world. I’ve been over to my nana’s on several occasions, and Larry has been over hanging drapes, washing dishes and mowing the lawn. Secondly, it was just several days ago that Larry was over, the first to respond when my nana had a terrible stroke. How he knew something was wrong with my nana that he would go check on her at that particular time we still don’t comprehend but are extremely grateful that he did. You see my grandpa passed away even years ago, and like Larry he was an awesome neighbor to everyone, especially Larry, because he too had an elderly mother that my grandpa would help out when Larry was out of town or at work. Not knowing that my grandpa would become ill and pass on, he sowed a seed of kindness that caught on like wildfire.
